How do i prevent the ink from an ink jet printer from smudging?

when i print something out and i accidentally touch it the ink smudges the ink?

This is depends on what is your printer model.


Some printer model use dye and pigment based ink. (Dye based ink is a water based ink that easily smudge but has rich in color characteristic).





If your printing result was smudge, most likely your printer is using dye based ink. You can not change that. That is the feature of your printer.





You can use inkjet paper instead of plain paper but it still smudge if you touch it with your wet finger.





I suggest, you leave it the printing result for a few minutes to dry completely.How do i prevent the ink from an ink jet printer from smudging?
Use good quality inkjet paper. It is more absorbent and takes less time to dry than ordinary paper.





However it still won't dry up instantly so you still have to be careful not to touch it right out of the printer.
Wait for it to dry.
Spray it with hairspray,the alcohol content absorbs moisture
