How to check printer ink levels on Windows Vista?

It doesn't matter what operating system you have, it's how you have the printer set up. If you have it set up correctly, as you print the printer will show a printing progress panel, and in that, the current ink levels will be displayed. When they are getting low they will flag it as well.How to check printer ink levels on Windows Vista?
start/settings/control panel/printers/ click on your printer/click on printerin the menu/printing preference/services tab/ ink estimation, anyway that is the way it is with my many HP printers.How to check printer ink levels on Windows Vista?
your printer should send a message when low and you switch it on
