Use D-W40 from some hardware store, spray and leave for few minutes. Rub and absorb it with towel paper. You can repeat it several times, eventually it would clean really good. How do you get old set in printer ink stains from your carpet completly?
You didnt say how big this stain is. Ok, so take tiny sharp scissors and snip out the ink. When your ready to move, take those scissors and find a back spot in a closet and snip out alot of fibers. Get some glue that will dry clear and is permanent but soft drying not like super glue, and glue down fibers. Take your time. Practice one small area and see how it does, alter your method if needed. You can also, try dotting bleach on a tiny spot, and let sit then wipe up completely over and over with a wet rag, if this removes the color, do more small areas, but get all the bleach out, thats why you do small parts at a time. Once its all bleached out, snip some fibers from a closet, go up to a arts crafts store and get a permanent marker that matches really well, and dot on color until its all done, let areas dry before doing it all, a stain or sorts is better than black ink. Take into account if its an apt, after a few years, some landlords call it tear out anyways. Privately owned ones, not as much, and not in houses. Whatever you try do small spots, so that if something doesnt work you dont have a large area to deal with.
Try spot cleaning using a liquid cleaning agent specifically for carpets. Test the cleaning agent first in a small part of the carpet to see if the carpet reacts negatively.

I would try using paper towels with rubbing alcholhol to remove the ink, and then I would use water and towels, followed by vacuming the rug really good to remove any leftover dirt.

Get a roll of paper towels and 91% isopropyl alcohol(located next to rubbing alcohol). Pour the alcohol on the stain and keep blotting with the paper towels until it's gone.
